Decorating is fun and over many years I’ve collected a lot of seasonal decorations. I’m a fall girl and our home reflects that. I believe that’s what inspires me when decorating and shopping. I know my style and have an over all theme. Purchasing items to scale is important too. This tip took me awhile when we moved into our dream home. The scale in the great room is much bigger than any room I’ve decorated before. So considering scale when purchasing for certain areas is important. I’m all about my four basic colors, an olive green, a deep red/burgundy, a butternut yellow and fall orange. The other theme I maintain is a nature theme. Our craftsman style home has all the trim a girl could want (which includes a lot of dusting) we choose quarter sewn red oak stained in cherry and contrasting maple hardwood floors, then to complement them best I picked out a Behr Paint in a muted green (Fossil Butte) that truly makes the wood pop. From paint color to rugs choices, furniture to architectural design I try to maintain a certain theme throughout the house and when considering decorations for any occasion I’m always on the look out for something new. Have fun with the decor, go outside of your comfort zone, you can always change it.

Jessica Waite
My name is Jessica Waite and to my best friend I am J Dub. I’m just an ordinary person who has been blessed beyond measure. I am the sum of my experiences, the good and the bad. I am a wife, a mother of four, an avid reader and lover of words. For as long as I can remember words have been my saving grace. Through a story I can dream bigger, I gain hope and knowledge. Through writing I can express myself, offer insight and possibly even give hope.
