There are a few luxuries I indulge in and I’ve come to understand that in certain items, you get what you pay for.
Have you ever read about how much time we spend in our beds or how what we sleep on affects our quality of sleep? These are marketing tools for the mattress companies as well as businesses that make or sell bedding.
The older I get the more I appreciate doing some research and finding good quality products. I’ve used consumer reports to purchase many things and will say their choice for a lesser cost sheet set, JCP Home 300 thread count sheet, is a good economical set. Then I came across the Boll and Branch Company.
It was a big purchase spending so much on one sheet set but I can honestly tell you these have been the best sheets! I choose the crisp cool percale sheets.
Pros: They are like a crisp white shirt when sliding into bed at night. They do actually get better with age, they soften with every wash. They fit deep mattresses. They hold up extremely well.
As far as cons go I really can’t think of any. Yes, they are expensive but calculate this; I have one set purchased three years ago, they are laundered once a week (fresh sheets Friday) and there are no holes, weak spots or quality issues. In comparison other sets have fallen apart on me by now.
Boll and Branch stands by their product with a 30 day trial period. I will say the best time of year to get them is during the holidays into January when they run specials on them.
Please pay special attention to washing and drying instructions. Washing in cool water and not with towels. I wash mine separately and dry them on the casual setting with not much heat. They will need to be pulled out and untangled as they dry and even so they come out slightly wrinkled. I use sheet suspenders to pull the two sides tight and that helps erase wrinkles.
Other products of theirs I have purchased are the bath towels. Again these are expensive but so worth it. They are over sized bath towels, absorbent and fluffy. I also have the waffle weave blanket by Boll and Branch. It is soft and light weight layer for all times of the year.
Pottery Barn bedding also compliments the Boll and Branch. The quilt is Pottery Barn’s pick stitch quilt. I own three of them and am looking to purchase two more.
Breeze through the pictures and read captions as they explain what all goes into making the bed a place of comfort that you’ll look forward to crawling into every evening.
